Red Top Mountain State Park

We came here to do some hiking, and we were not disappointed. Pretty close to ATL, the park was relatively busy - so word to the wise get here a bit early to avoid parking hassles if you come on the weekend. This isn�t one of these places where you will get on a trail and not see anyone, but it generally beats most of the places this close to the city. About Red Top Mountain State Park

We came here to do some hiking, and we were not disappointed. Pretty close to ATL, the park was relatively busy - so word to the wise get here a bit early to avoid parking hassles if you come on the weekend. This isn�t one of these places where you will get on a trail and not see anyone, but it generally beats most of the places this close to the city. The views of the lake were wonderful, with that famous GA red clay a perfect background for that blue water and green pines. This was a great trip, and the wonderful trails made it that way for us - highly recommend!
