Florence Marina State Park

We spent three nights in our travel trailer from Wednesday until Saturday morning. It was late August and hot as blue blazes so that kept us from doing much lounging outside the trailer. The sites are all pretty shaded. After about eight p.m. it got nice enough to visit with our neighboring campers. Our site, 36, was gravel and sand and was pretty level. About Florence Marina State Park

It had cable TV, all nine channels of it. We had one bar on our Verizon cell service. The site had both 30 and 50 amp connections, two water taps, and sewer. Whoever installed the sewer hookups must be under the impression that water (and dookie) flow up hill. The connections were about a foot off the ground. Spray everything that touches the ground with bug spray or you will have ants in the camper. Of course Providence Canyon is close and not to be missed, but one of the most pleasant finds was the taproom at Omaha Brewing. At 3:00 pm on a hot Thursday afternoon the only other customers that were there were other campers from Florence Marina State Park, but the place gets hopping pretty well on the weekend.I loved the lack of contact with the outside world and used the quiet time to do a lot of reading. Don't come to this park thinking that there is a lot to do; there isn't. But it is a nice quiet place to stay while you check out the surroundings.
